Secondary Navigation
Secondary navigation links that go to another department but also have child pages
For usability (ADA compliance) and mobile-friendliness, we recommend the following when handling Secondary Navigation links that go to another department but also have child pages. We recommend going to the department that has the link with the child pages in the Secondary Navigation and creating a new page and link to it instead. By using Shared Content, this new page will have the same information as the page that the link was originally going to.
Now when the link is clicked on, a visitor is taken to a page inside the same department that the Secondary Navigation is in. That way, the child pages are shown in the Secondary Navigation. Then when one of the child pages is clicked on, a visitor is taken to the other department.
We also recommend using Shared Content in this instance to make updating the pages easier.
